The enemy can NOT stop what God is doing…

It awoke in my heart on reading this: Lucifer (Satan) was Created by the same God he fights against!

God created Lucifer (who later became known as Satan) as a good, high-ranking angel or cherub before pride and rebellion caused his fall.

The Biblical and Theological View

  • Creation as Good: In traditional Christian and Jewish teachings, God did not create an evil monster; rather, Lucifer was created good, wise, and full of beauty.
  • Free Will and Pride: Theology explains that Lucifer was given free will. Driven by pride and a desire to elevate himself to the status of God, he chose to rebel.
  • The Fall and Name Change: Following a rebellion in heaven, Lucifer and the angels who followed him were cast out. His name shifted in meaning to Satan (which means “adversary” or “accuser”).
  • Not an Equal Opposition: Mainstream theology stresses that Satan is a created being, meaning the conflict is not a war between two equal gods, and Satan ultimately remains under God’s Sovereign Authority.

In the Book of Job, Satan (the adversary) appears before God and challenges the sincerity of Job’s righteousness.

The First Test (Job 1:12)

  • The Claim: Satan argues that Job only fears and serves God because God richly blesses and protects him.
  • The Permission: God gives Satan permission to strip away everything Job owns (his livestock, servants, and children).
  • The Boundary: God places a strict limit: Satan cannot harm Job’s physical body (“only against him do not stretch out your hand”).

The Second Test (Job 2:6)

  • The Claim: After Job withstands the first trial without cursing God, Satan comes before God again and claims Job will finally crack if his own health is attacked.
  • The Permission: God allows Satan to strike Job’s body with painful sores and illness.
  • The Boundary: God again sets a strict limit: Satan must spare Job’s life (“only spare his life”).

This book/account teaches SO VERY MUCH! God is Seated on high! Even to act against those who serve/worship/praise God, Satan needs to (as a Created being) seek God’s permission!

  • Proverbs 16:3 (ESV): “Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established.”
  • Psalm 37:5 (ESV): “Commit your way to the LORD; trust in Him, and He will act.”

And we pray that God’s will for and in our lives come to be. we come against all contrary forces in Jesus’ Name. God will order our steps and guide, protect and lead us always, Amen.

Scriptural Foundations for This Prayer

  • Psalm 37:23-24: “The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and He delighteth in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth him with His hand”.
  • Proverbs 3:5-6: “Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight”.
  • Isaiah 30:21: “Your ears will hear a word behind you, saying, ‘This is the way, walk in it,’ whenever you turn to the right or to the left”.
