God Created EVERYTHING!!!

God sees everything done in secret—both private acts of righteousness and hidden sins—and evaluates the true motives of the heart.

This teaching is found primarily in the Sermon on the Mount in Matthew 6 and throughout Scripture.

Core Biblical Teachings on Secret Actions

  • Giving in Secret (Matthew 6:3–4): Jesus instructs followers not to publicize their charitable acts to gain human applause (like the hypocrites in the synagogues and streets). Instead, giving should be discreet—so private that “your left hand does not know what your right hand is doing”—and the Father who sees in secret will reward it.
  • Praying in Secret (Matthew 6:5–6): Jesus tells believers to go into a private room, close the door, and pray to their Father in secret rather than making a show of public prayer on street corners. Private prayer strips away ego, pretense, and the need for an audience.
  • Fasting in Secret (Matthew 6:16–18): When fasting, people should not look somber or dramatic for others to notice, but rather keep it hidden before God, who sees the heart.
  • Omniscience and Hidden Things: The Bible emphasizes that nothing is hidden from God. Passages like Hebrews 4:13 state that all creation is laid bare before Him, and Ecclesiastes 12:14 notes that God will bring every deed into judgment, including every secret thing, whether good or evil.

The Two Sides of “God Sees in Secret”

  • A Comfort for the Unseen: For those who labor, suffer, weep in private, or serve without recognition, knowing that God sees provides deep reassurance. Unseen faithfulness and quiet perseverance are valued by God above temporary human praise.
  • A Warning Against Hypocrisy and Hidden Sin: God is not fooled by outward religious performances if the heart is distant. Persistent secret sins or hidden pride are fully perceived by Him, inviting believers to practice repentance and transparency before God rather than concealing wrongs.
