This touched my spirit…

I daren’t ask how many times we have been in elevators! Yeah, yeah in Fl, Ca, the Midwest,  down South…etc less likely, but in the NE a daily/monthly ‘ritual’!

2 things came to mind! Was there a delay in opening? Was it running normally? Either way, we need to be conscious!

Covering your day with God is a spiritual practice of surrendering your morning, decisions, and worries to Him before beginning your daily activities.

Key Elements of a Daily Covering

Morning Surrender: Offer your first thoughts, attention, and energy to God in quiet prayer before the rush of the day begins.

Gratitude: Start by thanking God for breath, life, salvation, and past mercies.

Seeking Guidance: Ask for divine wisdom, discernment, and alignment with His Word for upcoming tasks and interactions.

Protection and Favor: Pray for God’s presence to act like a shield or shade around your work, travel, family, and unseen challenges.

Evening Trust: Conclude the day by entrusting what you cannot control or finish back into God’s hands for peace and rest.

Common Biblical References for Daily Protection

Psalm 5:12: “Surely, Lord, You bless the righteous; You surround them with Your favor as with a shield”.

Psalm 121:5: “The Lord is your Keeper; the Lord is your Shade at your right hand”.

Numbers 6:24-26: A traditional blessing asking the Lord to protect, be gracious to, and give peace to your steps.

Lord I commit this day into your hands

Committing your day into God’s hands is a daily practice of surrender, trust, and seeking guidance for whatever lies ahead.

A Morning Prayer of Surrender

“Lord, I commit this day, my work, my plans, and my future into Your Loving hands. Guide my steps, grant me wisdom, and establish the work of my hands. Where I feel uncertain, give me peace. May everything I do today bring honor and glory to You. Amen.”

Key Scriptural Foundations

Proverbs 16:3: “Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and He will establish your plans.”

Psalm 31:5: “Into Your hands I commit my spirit; deliver me, LORD, my faithful God.”
