There is NO ‘old’ in the presence of God! Hallelujah, Amen.

I was meditating on the Word and I thought about ‘age’ in Heaven! The account of Elijah being taken to the Presence of God in a flaming chariot came to my heart!

The account of the prophet Elijah being taken up into Heaven is found in 2 Kings 2:11.

The Story from 2 Kings 2

The Journey: Elijah and his companion and successor, Elisha, walked together from Gilgal, passing through Bethel and Jericho, until they reached the Jordan River.

The Chariot: As they walked and talked, a chariot of fire and horses of fire suddenly appeared, separating the two men.

The Ascension: Elijah was taken up to heaven in a whirlwind.

The Mantle: Elisha watched him go and cried out, then picked up Elijah’s fallen cloak (mantle), which he used to part the Jordan River as he stepped into his own prophetic ministry.

A WHISPER FROM HEAVEN!

📌 Nothing is constantly valuable except the things of God.

Innovation is a dominant feature of this fast-pace age: yesterday’s styles become outmoded today and today’s concepts, vogue and products cannot match tomorrow’s productions. The implication is that the old often becomes irrelevant!

Meaning and Context

  • Fleeting Nature of Life: The verse contrasts human life, beauty, and strength—which are temporary and fade away like grass and wildflowers—with the eternal nature of God.
  • Reliability of God’s Word: In the context of historical trials (such as the Babylonian exile), it serves as an assurance that God’s promises and truth remain completely dependable, unchanging, and secure.

Time does not exist in Heaven!

Opinions on whether ‘time’ exists in Heaven are divided.

The View That Time Does Not Exist

God is timeless: God exists outside of created time (“from everlasting to everlasting”).

No natural cycles: The Book of Revelation notes that Heaven does not need the sun or moon for light because God’s glory illuminates it (Revelation 21:23).

The “Eternal Now”: Many spiritual traditions and mediums (such as Matt Fraser) describe the afterlife as a realm where past, present, and future happen all at once without aging, waiting, or boredom. A popular hymn phrase—often mistaken for Scripture—states that “time shall be no more”.

Reflection: Only God is indispensable!

The physical scribes of The Word of God, are no more! But, the timeless truth they left behind has remained relevant across ages or eras… What do you carry?

Keeping the Word of God in your heart involves storing, memorizing, and meditating on Scripture so it guides your daily life.

Key Biblical Foundations

  • Psalm 119:11: “I have hidden Your Word in my heart that I might not sin against You.”
  • Proverbs 4:21–23: Guard your heart closely and keep God’s Word deep within, as they are the source of life and health.
  • Deuteronomy 11:18: Fix these words in your hearts and minds, binding them as reminders.

Practical Ways to Keep God’s Word in Your Heart

  • Consistent Bible Study: Read and study the Bible regularly to understand truth and recognize false or deceptive messages.
  • Scripture Memorization: Start small by committing key verses to memory so they are readily available during moments of fear, anxiety, or temptation. For guidance on building a habit, visit Derek Prince Ministries.
  • Active Meditation: Ponder and reflect on what verses mean, applying them directly to your choices and interactions each day.
  • Prayer and Reflection: Ask God to help write His truth on your heart after reading Scripture.

What a man carries determines his place everywhere ‘he’ is!

The point? Most of our treasures are chased by us to feed our lusts; not purposely to save souls or improve humanity, such are soon wiped out. Only the knowledge of Christ and His principles will never expire… So, let’s seek to be filled with it so as to always shine and add values to life.

May God fill us with Himself, Amen.🙏🔥
