Never Underestimate What God Can Do With the Little You Have!
The Widow of Zarephath — A Handful of Flour and a Miracle of Provision
Do not allow what you lack to make you forget how powerful God is. During a severe famine, the widow of Zarephath had only a handful of flour and a little oil remaining. She was preparing what she believed would be her family’s final meal when the prophet Elijah arrived with a challenging request and a promise from God. Although her resources were almost exhausted, she responded in faith and obedience. God miraculously sustained her household, and the flour and oil did not run out during the famine. What seemed insufficient in human hands became an extraordinary testimony of God’s provision. Her story reminds us that our limitations do not limit God’s ability.
“The jar of meal didn’t empty and the jar of oil didn’t fail, according to Lord’s Word, which He spoke by Elijah.”
1 Kings 17:16.
Never despise the little you have today. You may be facing financial pressures, limited opportunities, overwhelming responsibilities, or uncertainty about tomorrow. Instead of allowing fear to control your decisions, bring your needs before Jesus and seek His wisdom. Be faithful with your resources, make wise choices, and remain open to the help and opportunities God provides. God’s provision does not always come through spectacular miracles; sometimes it arrives through unexpected kindness, daily strength, practical support, or doors you never imagined would open. What you have may seem small, but the God you serve is greater than every limitation. Keep trusting Him, even when you cannot see how everything will work out.
