Trust God unceasingly! You are who God says you are!
In biblical scripture, God defines the identity of believers through their relationship with Jesus Christ.
Your Identity in God’s Word
- Created and Crafted: You are made in God’s image (Genesis 1:27) and fearfully and wonderfully made with purpose (Psalm 139:14).
- Loved and Adopted: You are deeply loved by God (Romans 8:38-39), chosen (Ephesians 1:4), and adopted as His child (Ephesians 1:5).
- Forgiven and Redeemed: You are forgiven of your sins (1 John 2:12), redeemed (Colossians 1:14), and free from condemnation (Romans 8:1).
- A New Creation: You are a new person in Christ where your old life has passed away (2 Corinthians 5:17) and you possess His righteousness (2 Corinthians 5:21).
- A Temple and Friend: You are a living temple for the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 3:16) and called a friend of Jesus rather than a servant (John 15:15).
- Victorious and Secure: You are an overcomer (Romans 8:37), the salt of the earth and light of the world (Matthew 5:13-14), and a joint heir with Christ (Romans 8:17).
