God sees, and is aware of EVERYTHING!!! Josiah, a Man we need to read about, and act upon his ministry to God; from 8 years of age!

King Josiah was the righteous 8-year-old boy king of Judah who later initiated a massive spiritual revival and reform across the nation.

Key Events of Josiah’s Reign

  • Early Faith and Leadership: Josiah became king at age eight after his father Amon and grandfather Manasseh (both wicked kings) died, choosing to follow God wholeheartedly like his ancestor David.
  • Purging Idolatry: Around his 12th to 18th year as king, he began tearing down pagan altars, smashing Asherah poles, and removing idol worship from Judah and Jerusalem.
  • Rediscovering God’s Word: While repairing the temple in his 18th year, the high priest Hilkiah discovered the lost Book of the Law. When Shaphan the scribe read it to Josiah, the king tore his clothes in deep repentance over the nation’s past disobedience.
  • Covenant Renewal and Passover: Josiah gathered the people, pledged a covenant to obey God’s commands, and restored a massive national Passover celebration.

How to Apply His Ministry Today

  • Turn Away from Cultural Compromise: Reject surrounding pressures or idols of the modern era, choosing instead to do what is right in God’s eyes regardless of family or societal norms.
  • Value and Study the Word of God: Treat Scripture with high authority and let it convict, guide, and reshape your daily life rather than relying on cultural convenience.
  • Humble and Contrite Heart: Cultivate a tender, responsive heart toward God’s voice, which moves you to immediate repentance and obedience.

And we pray:

Father LORD, El Shadai – You alone are holy, spotless, and above all things. Our greatest enemy, Jesus conquered and vanquished om the cross at Cavalry. Fill us with Your Spirit; direct our every step. Mold us into that which You Created us to be. Father, in our lives and existences: Your will be done, we pray in Jesus’ Name (The Name that is above all names.) We decree good success in our lives and existences to Your glory LORD. Teach us, guide us to pray Your will in and for our lives,  Amen.

King Josiah’s response to the Book of the Law is found in 2 Kings 22, where his humility and open heart moved God to show mercy.

Key Lessons from King Josiah’s Prayer and Leadership

  • Tender and Responsive Heart: When Josiah heard God’s Word read aloud, he tore his clothes and wept in genuine repentance over the nation’s past disobedience (2 Kings 22:11, 19).
  • Seeking Divine Guidance: Instead of relying on his own understanding, Josiah sent messengers to consult the Lord through the prophetess Huldah to find out God’s will (2 Kings 22:13).
  • Active Obedience: Josiah backed his prayer and repentance with action by removing idols, repairing the temple, and leading the people back into covenant with God (2 Kings 23).
  • God’s Promise to the Humble: The Lord heard Josiah because his heart was soft and he humbled himself (2 Kings 22:19), proving that God responds to a contrite spirit (Psalm 51:17).
