And we pray, giving thanks for the day passed and the night we shall rest.

Dear God, thank You for bringing me through another day. As I get ready to rest tonight, I’m asking You to help me identify what I’ve actually been afraid of. Your word in Proverbs 9:10 says, “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.” God, if I’m keeping it real with You… I’ve spent more energy fearing things like being alone, losing my job, or not having enough than I’ve spent honoring You. I don’t want small fears controlling my heart when You alone deserve all of my attention. Help me choose You tonight, the One who formed me, knew me before I was born, and loves me unconditionally. I give this night to You. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; marvelous are Your works, and that my soul knows very well. -Psalm 139:14
