This morning, we pray đź™ŹđźŹľ

Dear God, thank You for this new day and thank You for being the Author of my story, even the painful chapters that I never would’ve chosen for myself. Your Word in Romans 8:28 says, “And we know that all things work together for good to those who Love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.” God, I can look back and see moments where things that I went through almost broken me and pushed me down a road I never would have picked, but You knew I needed the push. Help me trust today that whatever I’m walking through right now is Your hand at work, even if I can’t fully see it yet. Give me the faith to hear You when You are leading me forward. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

The Lord will perfect that which concerns me; Your mercy, O Lord, endures forever. Do not forsake the works of Your hands. -Psalm 138:8

Meaning & Teaching

  • God Finishes What He Starts: The Hebrew root word gamar means to complete, end, or bring to fulfillment. The verse teaches that God is not a starter who abandons projects; His plans for an individual’s character, calling, and circumstances will reach completion.
  • Anchored in Unfailing Love: The certainty of the future does not rest on human strength or good behavior, but on hesed—God’s steadfast, covenant love that endures forever.
  • Humble Plea (“Do not forsake”): David balances deep confidence with humble dependence. Appealing as “the work of your hands,” he reminds God that an artisan does not throw away what he has lovingly crafted and formed.
  • Application in Hard Times: When facing trials, delays, or confusion, the verse invites believers to shift their focus from their own worries to God’s ongoing faithfulness.
