If you could go back in time and give your younger self advice, what would it be?
If you could travel back in time with a Bible-based, Jesus-focused heart, the core advice centers on keeping Christ at the absolute center of every moment, decision, and relationship.
Seek First the Kingdom
- Put God first: Let Matthew 6:33 be your daily anchor—seek His kingdom and righteousness first, trusting that He will provide everything else you truly need.
- Read the Word daily: Do not treat the Bible as a backup plan or a casual weekend read; let Scripture form the steel framework of your mind and guide every choice.
- Walk close to the Shepherd: Avoid rushing or making rash, impetuous plans. The closer you stay to Jesus, the clearer His direction becomes.
Let Go of Anxieties and Pride
- Drop the worry: Most things that cause anxiety today will not matter in eternity. Fix your eyes on Jesus and hand your stress over to Him.
- Choose humility: Pride creates distance between you and God, as well as others. Be quick to apologize, quick to forgive, and willing to let go of the need to always be right.
- Stop striving: Slow down. God cares about the journey, and you do not have to force His timing or carry the weight of outcomes you cannot control.
Invest in What Lasts
- Prioritize people over possessions: The world chases money, status, and material things, but Jesus calls you to love people deeply. Tell your family and friends you love them often.
- Build a quiet life with Christ: You do not need a crowd to validate your path. Treasure your quiet time in prayer, Scripture, and fellowship with a small, faithful “tribe” who loves the Lord.
- Live with an eternal perspective: Treat this earth as a temporary stop, letting your choices and legacy reflect the kindness, truth, and fruit of the Spirit of Jesus.
