Every game, has rules! Are we living? Yes! We are actively participating in the game of life.
The “game of life” is not a literal phrase or concept taught in the Bible, though Christian teachers often use it as a metaphor to contrast worldly values with God’s Kingdom.
The Commercial Board Game vs. the Bible
- The Board Game Model: The popular board game The Game of Life focuses on accumulating wealth, material assets, career status, and physical possessions, akin to our everyday pursuits!
- The Biblical Model: Scripture rejects the idea that life is about piling up earthly treasures. Instead, the Bible defines a life of faith through spiritual investment, generosity, Love, and following Jesus Christ.
The Golden Rule is found in Matthew 7:12 (ESV), which states: “So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the law and the prophets.” [1]
Key Biblical Verses for Daily Living
- The Core Commandment: Romans 13:8–10 teaches that love fulfills the entire law, instructing believers to “love your neighbor as yourself.”
- The Foundation of Wisdom: Proverbs 1:7 notes that “the fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge,” which guides a life lived according to God’s ways.
- Practical Christian Conduct: Romans 12:9–18 outlines daily rules for living, including having sincere love, being patient in trouble, staying constant in prayer, and living peacefully with everyone.
- Guiding Purpose: Ephesians 2:10 reminds believers that “we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.”
Key Biblical Principles Applied to “Life as a Game”
- Following the Rules: Just as a game has rules, the Bible provides spiritual laws and moral guidelines. 2 Timothy 2:5 notes that an athlete cannot win the prize unless they compete according to the rules!
- Sowing and Reaping: Galatians and other passages teach a divine law of cause and effect: what a person sows in word and deed, they will also reap.
- The Ultimate Scoreboard: The Bible points to a future reckoning where success is measured by faithfulness to God rather than financial or social status.
“For the Son of Man is going to come in His Father’s glory with His angels, and then He will reward each person according to what they have done.” Matthew 16:27
Key Points
- The Return: Jesus speaks about a future time when He will return. He will come with great power, honor, and holy angels.
- The Judgment: He will look at every person’s life.
- The Reward: He will give each person what they deserve based on their actions and choices.
Meaning
- Fairness: God sees everything people do, both good and bad.
- Accountability: Actions have real, lasting meaning. People are responsible for how they live their lives.
A WHISPER FROM HEAVEN!
📌Where there’s no LAW, there’s no SIN.

- Setting: Moses addresses the Israelites near the Promised Land following a review of the Ten Commandments. [1, 2]
- Meaning: Walking in God’s ways signifies faithful obedience to His laws, directly connecting this devotion to stability and well-being.
We want to live well and live long: good dieting, job, safety, active lives and most of our daily efforts are towards this and we do not want to violate the rules.
The Bible teaches that believers should submit to governing and earthly authorities because God ultimately establishes all human structures of authority.
Key Bible Passages
- Romans 13:1-5: Paul writes that everyone must obey governing authorities because God has instituted them. Rebelling against them is rebelling against God’s order.
- 1 Peter 2:13-17: Peter instructs believers to submit to every human institution—whether the emperor or governors—for the Lord’s sake.
- Hebrews 13:17: Believers are also told to submit to spiritual leaders and church elders who keep watch over their souls.
The Main Principles
- God is Sovereign: Earthly leaders hold their positions because God allows or appoints them.
- Order Over Chaos: Government and rules exist to punish wrongdoers, keep peace, and encourage good behavior.
- Matters of Conscience: Submission is done not just to avoid punishment, but to keep a clear moral conscience before God.
The Biblical Exception
- Obey God Rather Than Man: Submission to human authority has a hard limit when a law or leader commands something that directly disobeys God’s moral commands (seen in examples like the Apostles in Acts 5:29 and Daniel).
Awesome! The RULES of peace with God and Man matters most! A selfish life may be rosy but the end is eternal death for defying the divine Word of God… This is noteworthy!
Reflection: What’s your attitudes toward the guiding rules anywhere; generally?
Without the police, the traffic rules mean nothing to some people, they use the roads recklessly not minding safety… Does that picture you in any way??? Not just roads, but life!?
The truth? Obedience to the rules of Life, particularly the Word of God spare us from avoidable ‘issues’… A great message for us!
With Peace and Love.🙏🔥
